In the final months of the war, German production was stretched to the limits, even in the Luftwaffe. Germany no longer had the luxury of the high quality they had in the years prior. All smocks were hastily sewn with single-needle machines throughout. Every possible shortcut was take, machine bar tacs instead of “hand sewn reinforcing. No longer was it made from high quality windproof cotton twill , but rather 7.5 oz cotton duck..This smock has been expertly and meticioulously reproduced to match these “End of War” smocks. After 80 years nothing has changed!!
Note that, like all the smocks in our New Limited Edition collection, this one has been made in it’s own unique way, detail-to-detail. Not just a different fabric, but different in every detail. It’s like we always say, “We don’t try to change history, we reproduce it down to the smallest details”.
