WWII Para Marine USMC Step-In Jump Smock
WWII Para Marine USMC Step-In Jump Smock
This was the FINAL version of the T-3 Para Marine Step-in Jump Smock made during WWII in late 1943 in preparation for an airborne invasion in the PTO. It went through several modifications and changes starting with OD HBT to Camouflage, then with and without elbow pads and several different versions of pockets. After all was said and done this was the design the Marine Corps felt was best suited and went with.
Its design is similar to the USMC P-44 combat uniforms but is slightly snugger to jump out of airplanes with and contains several large hidden pockets secured by sturdy snaps and zippers so the contents don’t fly out in mid-air. It is made of 100% Cotton HBT so it can be manipulated to either shrink or stretch depending on how you wash it. This is truly a remarkable and unusual piece of WWII Marine gear.
